My Brother is Getting Married! Dallas Wedding Photographer

It's my brother's birthday today, so I thought it would be a good day to post his engagement photos, taken in Fort Worth last week.  This is the second round of engagement photos, as we did their first set out-of-town. Jay's in the Air Force, so Kendall wanted some photos around her home town, as she'll be moving once they get married in June. These two laugh a lot and are so at ease together that you can't help but have a blast every time you're with them. Every time. I'm so excited for their wedding and am excited to share this sneak peek.  Happy birthday, Jaybo!

Jess and Rich are ENGAGED! Fort Worth Wedding Photographer

Jess is one of my best friends, and our friendship spans almost twenty years. That doesn't make us feel old, though; it makes us feel fortunate. That said, when Jess told me she was engaged, I could barely contain my excitement. When I met Rich, it was evident these two belong together. Actors living in New York, they sing and dance and absolutely love life. Together loving life looks that much sweeter, that much fuller, that much better. I cannot wait for their wedding, but I love the page that they're on now. We took these photos in downtown Fort Worth when Jess came home for Christmas and introduced those who love her to Rich. I cannot wait to share the full set of images.

Adam and Margot are Getting Married!! Dallas Wedding Photographer

In honor of Adam and Margot's April 2012 wedding, friends hosted an engagement party Sunday afternoon.  It was one of those parties where everyone laughed and smiled and swapped stories.  The happiness in the room centered around genuine excitement for the soon-to-be bride and groom. Great wine and yummy treats ensured everyone enjoyed themselves, and this couple? They are in love and excited to take the next step together. I loved being there to capture the feel of the day, and I'm excited to share this sneak peek.  Congratulations, Adam and Margot!

Jenny and Joey are ENGAGED! Dallas Wedding Photographer

If you meet your husband- or wife-to-be in elementary school and still live nearby, then what better place is there to photograph your engagement session?  I met up with Jenny and Joey, and we wandered their old stomping grounds as they shared their story.  Nevermind that it started raining about five minutes after we started the session; these two are perfect for each other.  They're in love and down to earth.  They laugh easily.  They love being together.  The rain didn't slow us down a bit (and we did get some sunny skies too).  The wedding is coming in December, but in the meantime, I'm excited to share these photos.

Rachel and Ryan are ENGAGED! A Washington D.C. Session. Dallas Couple's and WeddingPhotographer

Confession #1: Rachel is my cousin.  Confession #2: I mostly wanted to photograph her engagement so that I could assess Ryan, her fiance.  Confession #3: Washington D.C. as the backdrop for this photo session made it one of my favorites ever.

It was a bit of a whirlwind session.  I flew in that morning, we had lunch and then headed to Old Town Alexandria to start.  Cobblestone streets, crisp spring air and American Flags?  Yes, please.  Add a gorgeous and in-love couple to the mix, and the recipe for great photos turned out just right.  We headed to D.C. after that, where the Lincoln Memorial provided a more formal setting. (The reflecting pool had been drained for construction, though, so no amazing shots with the Washington Monument standing regally in the background).  And then as we were wrapping up we drove by the grounds to one of the Smithsonian musuems.  Spring had erupted inside, so we parked and took some more photos.

It was so good to be with these two.  Ryan's mom accompanied us, and I'm so glad we became friends before their September wedding.  The whole session was story-telling, romance-celebrating and laughter infused with a little bit of politics thrown in.  I can hardly wait to finish the session and am counting down the days to their Cincinnati wedding!
